About Kerry Cole
I talk to bugs and people I can't see.
I think trees have feelings and paint what I feel coming from all around us.
I dream of people I have never met who offer advice, or ask for my help. I often end up painting them as an offering of healing.
My family is tolerant and curious.
Creating is the bridge between these worlds, and each piece has a story to tell.
I largely paint figuratively/portraiture (humans or animals), but will escape to abstract compositions for my own emotional relief. An abstract piece provides respite from the intensity of feeling created during those figurative 'discussions'. It provides a technical work space to play with form and color without intent...or judgement.
My work continues to evolve and my aspirations continue to gain momentum. I remain ever humbled as I watch this portfolio grow, take on a life of it's own, and find the ones to whom they belong.
This link is an interesting interview that gives insight from my perspective
(vs. the professional review of stats that follows):
Kerry is married and they share a large, happy blended family.
They live in Washington State and regularly hike, walk on the beach and try to take time to enjoy the magnificent Pacific Northwest.
